Current status of swganh

Postby burf2000 » April 18th, 2015, 10:13 am

Hi there

I am trying to understand what is swganh, is it a spin off of SWGEMU? Or a completely separate version?

I see you can build on windows which cool

Does it have the seg fault that SWGEMU has after 2 hours

Does it have Jedi enabled?

SW:ANH is a completely separate emulator project that shares similar goals with SWGEmu. You can fund our more about ANH here: http://www.swganh.com/anh_about/

Hey burf,

SWG:ANH is an independent emulator that is developing separately from SWGEmu. The goal of SWG:ANH is to develop, like SWGEmu, a server which replicates the 14.1 publish of Star Wars Galaxies. That being the end of the Pre-CU.

Because we do not use SWGEmu Core3, we do not have segfaults after 2 hours inside the engine. Jedi is not implemented at this time, but is planned to be implemented in the future.

Let us know if you have any other questions!

thanks for the awesome reply,

So techies here (I am actually a developer, mainly mobile), how can some of these SWG servers out here have Jedi? did people spend weeks in different branches enabling it?

Sadly I couldn't tell you how they did it, I'm sure each comunity has there way, most likely via lots of sleepless nights scripting,

Some have custom unlock systems that are fairly simple and straightforward, others have blue frogs. Play servers are forced to compete with each other, and one of the ways they try to win the player base is by handing out Jedi like candy.

I know what your saying, I used to be a heavy user like skipping sleep etc

I quite like bloodfin simple way of doing it to be honest.

I wanted to make a local test server (done) to learn more about the game.

Should I be using https://github.com/anhstudios/swganh or the mmoServer?

Can anyone tell me how well this works
